Tanika Gupta has written an exciting new 15 minute monologue titled PRITILATA to be broadcast by BBC Four this summer, in association with the Royal Court Theatre.
Tanika's monologue is inspired by the the story of Pritillata Waddedar, who campaigned for Bengali women to get the vote in 1930’s Colonial India, and will be performed by Kiran Sonia Sawar (Black Mirror, Murdered By My Father). Curated by Royal Court Artistic Director Vicky Featherstone, PRITILATA is one of eight monologues inspired by women who have spoken out, challenged the status quo or made a stand – often at great personal cost.
