Tanika Gupta's 15 minute monologue titled PRITILATA will be broadcast by at 22:15pm on BBC Four as part of their “Snatches” series marking 100 years of women’s suffrage, in association with the Royal Court Theatre.
Tanika's monologue is inspired by the the story of Pritillata Waddedar, who campaigned for Bengali women to get the vote in 1930’s Colonial India, and will be performed by Kiran Sonia Sawar (Black Mirror, Murdered By My Father). PRITILATA is one of eight monologues inspired by women who have spoken out, challenged the status quo or made a stand – often at great personal cost.
